Jindřiška Jabůrková

Regain form (Recuperar la forma)

In her project Regain form, Jindřiška Jabůrková discovers and explores the Madrid suburbs and urban wilderness.

She documents her wanderings around the city and the hunt for discarded building materials, tiles, rubble, bricks and the like. This material is rich in meaning for the author. The mass of rubble, or discarded building material, was once a home, and now, although it has become waste for us, it continues on its journey of vital materiality.

The author looks for intersections between nature and the city. Between old and new. Archaeological finds of the present, unnoticed or forgotten random installations of objects. Objects living their own life without human intervention. She selects carefully from these objects and breathes new meaning into them and a new order in the order of the world that does not belong only to humans. She creates an installation from objects, and writes a new story of matter that circulates through the arteries of the city. Matter that is found in the city regain form in the studio.

It is created instalation in the studio space and also small book documenting story of matter.

The idea of the constant cycle, transformation and fluidity of matter in this world, whether it is organic matter, inorganic matter or dark matter in the universe. Matter that takes on different forms and transforms its states, stores memory in layers, degrades and re-forms, shifts and settles. Author is working with idea of objected oriented ontology, speculative realism and new materialism in contemporary philosophy.

She completed an internship at the Bezelel academy of fine arts and design in Jerusalem (2020) and an internship in Zsofia Keresztes studio in Budapest (2022). She participated in several symposia in the Czech Republic.

Her artistic practice is interdisciplinary, includes installation, creation of objects, sometimes photography and video or performance.

She is interested in the relationship between the human subject and nature, the relationship of man to the material world, sometimes deepened by the spiritual plane.

She creates installations supplemented with artefacts, either abstract supporting his original matter or referring to real objects. She uses the contextual meanings of materials, the motif of a post-apocalyptic vision of objects in the world, fascinated by the transformation processes of matter, whether of human or natural origin.
